Knowledge about coke smelting high carbon ferrochrome water washing iron
Generally, when smelting high carbon ferrochrome water washing iron, the use of coke is indispensable. When using coke, high carbon ferrochrome manufacturers need to pay attention to the following points:
1. If the water content is too high, too much heat energy will be consumed when evaporating water, which will increase the power consumption of the submerged arc furnace. China does not yet have a national standard dedicated to ferroalloy coke, only enterprise standards for some manufacturers. Most submerged arc furnaces that produce iron and gold still use underscreen coke and gasification coke of metallurgical coke.
2. High fixed carbon content, low ash content, less content of harmful impurities such as Al2O3 and P2O5 in the ash, good coke reactivity, high resistivity, especially high temperature resistivity, low volatile matter, appropriate strength and suitable block size, less and stable moisture, etc. If the fixed carbon is high, the total amount of coke required is small, and the ash and harmful impurities brought in are relatively small. In this way, the slag volume is small, the power consumption is low, and the alloy grade is high.
3. Ferroalloy coke with large specific resistance can increase the resistance of the entire furnace charge, increase the electrode insertion depth, move the high-temperature zone downward, expand the reaction zone, reduce the volatilization of reduced elements, improve heat utilization, and reduce power consumption. Ferroalloy coke should have appropriate strength, otherwise it will increase the amount of powdered coke, affect the air permeability of the furnace mouth material surface, and lead to deterioration of the furnace condition. If the moisture content of ferroalloy coke fluctuates greatly, the coke amount is not easy to align, causing fluctuations in the furnace condition.
